We’re renovating our holiday apartment in Sondrio and are looking for experienced people to carry out a few improvement projects.
Painting: repainting and freshening up some rooms in the apartment.
Carpentry: we’re looking for a craftsperson who can design and build made-to-measure enclosures using panels, cabinet doors and doors, to make some areas of the apartment more functional and polished.
In exchange, we offer a free stay, for up to two people. The length of the stay will be agreed based on the type and scope of the work. We can purchase the necessary materials by prior arrangement.
We prefer applicants with hands-on experience in the work involved. Before making an exchange, we’ll agree together on the tasks, schedule, materials and number of nights.
We’re happy to consider the two offers separately: painting only or carpentry only.

A veterinary check-up for the two cats who have turned up at our property. We’re preparing to care for them, but they can’t yet be transported to our vet.
We have a south-facing terrace with space for potted plants, where we’d like to grow ornamental and aromatic plants, and a north-facing balcony that would look much better with some flowers. Unfortunately, we have no gardening experience! We’d love someone to take a look at the few plants we have, show us how to care for them, advise us on what kinds of plants to add, and teach us the basics from scratch. We’d also really appreciate advice on which tools to buy and how to choose new pots.

Masseria Murgia Albanese is home to an eighteenth-century apiary, one of the largest in Puglia. It sits on a small plot of around 500 square metres, enclosed by traditional dry-stone walls. We would like to restore the space to its original purpose by recreating the historic bee garden and welcoming bees back to the site. The original apiary can no longer be used, as its system is now obsolete, so we would install movable beehives instead.
We are looking for a serious, professional project to bring this precious, currently overgrown corner of the masseria back to life. The barter can also be arranged for a time outside Barter Week, but we hope to get the project underway as soon as possible.
