The property
Our home is a genuine family residence, built in the early 1900s on land that has belonged to our ancestors for generations. It enjoys a prime location, offering stunning views and plenty of sunlight, surrounded by greenery yet just a short walk from the city center—a place that beautifully combines the charm of the countryside with urban convenience. From here, you can admire the bell towers of Assisi and the olive groves that shape the landscape, while listening to the church bells and the calls of pheasants, creating a perfect balance of tranquility and authenticity.
The parking area is spacious, fenced, and free, but the house is also easily accessible without a car: the bus stop is just 50 meters away, and Porta Nuova, the main entrance to the city walls, is only 100 meters from us. With the escalator, you can reach the center in three minutes. A small fixed fee for cleaning is required in addition to your stay, which covers the costs of changing between guest groups and encourages longer bookings, ideal for fully enjoying the location and our hospitality.
We live on the top floor of the house, where we have been hosting travelers in two independent apartments for the past two years. We are a family of four, genuine locals from Assisi and curious about the world, always happy to share tips and stories. Behind our house lies our organic olive grove, from which we produce excellent extra virgin olive oil that we offer to guests for tasting. We also grow lavender and fruit plants, and we make small natural soaps using products from our land.
The Porta Nuova neighborhood is lively yet peaceful, with beautiful views and a pleasant breeze. In just a few minutes on foot, you can reach the Church of Santa Chiara, the Cathedral of San Rufino, the Piazza del Comune with the Temple of Minerva, and the Sanctuary of San Damiano. The Basilica of San Francesco is about a twenty-minute walk away or five minutes by bus, with a stop right outside our home. Just a short distance away is the only supermarket in the center, along with numerous restaurants, pizzerias, and bars to suit all needs.
Every Saturday, a market takes place along Via Borgo Aretino, featuring local and artisanal products. We invite you to explore Assisi at a leisurely pace, allowing your curiosity to guide you: we can suggest lesser-known places, authentic experiences, and paths that go beyond the main attractions. Most of our guests choose to return because Assisi continually surprises with its history, breathtaking views, and its endless cultural and natural wealth.
