The property
Isca delle Donne Agriturismo is a historic family-run farm, passionately managed by the Merola family for over a century. Through generations, the family has preserved the ancient art of cultivation and animal husbandry, fostering a deep connection with the land and its animals. This commitment is evident in the warm hospitality that characterizes the agriturismo, where visitors can immerse themselves in an authentic and genuine atmosphere.
The facility consists of two main buildings: the first houses the restaurant and kitchen, while the owner Vincenzo Merola and his family reside on the upper floor. The second building contains the sales area for the farm's products, a cellar, and a room dedicated to artisanal processing. Nearby, there is a bakery that produces fresh bread, and continuing along the path leads to the stables. At the center of the farm, three solid wooden cottages provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests.
Each cottage features two bedrooms, a living room-kitchen, and a bathroom, equipped with air conditioning, TV, washing machine, dryer, and an outdoor hot shower. The cottages were recently renovated in the winter of 2017, with new TVs and Wi-Fi added. Additionally, the garden includes antique games for children and a bocce court for adult enjoyment.
The Isca delle Donne tavern, open year-round, offers dishes with authentic flavors, prepared using ancient traditional recipes. The cuisine is managed by an Agrichef who, thanks to training with Terranostra, Campagna Amica, and Coldiretti, brings the genuine tastes of the Campania region to the table. In the sales area, visitors can purchase the farm's products: fresh vegetables, oil, wine, bread, cured meats, cheeses, honey, liqueurs, and more, giving them the opportunity to take home the authentic taste of tradition.
The agriturismo is an ideal place for those looking to rediscover the pleasures of simple, genuine things. The educational farm offers a unique experience for both children and adults to learn about traditional techniques that risk being forgotten, yet represent an important cultural heritage. Located within the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997, the farm is set in an area of extraordinary biodiversity, where nature and tradition come together to provide an authentic experience.
