When you arrive in Lierna, you will easily spot the B&B Le Ortensie, identifiable by its beautiful white gate that is always open, welcoming you into a large garden filled with hydrangeas. Upon your arrival, you can relax on the porch and enjoy a refreshing drink as you unwind from your journey.
Welcome to my cozy little B&B. I love swimming and soaking up the sun, so you might often find me at the beach, perhaps even alongside you! Lierna is a charming village that boasts two lovely beaches: Riva Bianca and Grumo. Our B&B is located right across from Riva Bianca and the medieval village, which features a small church from the 1200s, where you can attend mass on Saturdays.
During the summer, Lierna offers various activities for tourists: at the beginning of June, you can take part in “Le cantine,” a wine and cheese tasting tour in the open cellars. Following that, there’s “La regina nel castello,” a historical reenactment of the Lombard period, and the “Agoni polenta e musica” festival in July, featuring lake fish and polenta. In nearby villages, you will find more festivities with fireworks and dinners showcasing local lake specialties.
The B&B Le Ortensie is just 4 km from Varenna and opposite Bellagio, two of the jewels of Lake Como, easily accessible by boat or train, making it a perfect starting point to explore the wonders of the lake.
