Barletta offers a journey back in time with a visit to the Cantina della Disfida, where one can uncover fascinating details about the medieval clash of 1503 between thirteen Italian knights (under Spanish command) and an equal number of French knights. The sea is also among the city's treasures, featuring a significant commercial and tourist port along with its beautiful sandy beaches. A source of pride in the local gastronomy is the Rosso Barletta, a DOC wine with a ruby red color.
